Sri Lanka and the 2018 Commonwealth Games
WE HOPE THAT YOU WILL SPARE A FEW MINUTES TO SEND A LETTER TO HELP US IN OUR CAMPAIGN TO ENSURE THAT SRI LANKA IS NOT CHOSEN TO HOST THE COMMONWEALTH GAMES, until such a time as when allegations of war crimes are adequately addressed and the human rights of the Tamil people are respected.
On November 11th 2011 the Commonwealth Games Federation General Assembly will meet to vote on whether Australia or Sri Lanka will host the 2018 Commonwealth Games. Your country’s Commonwealth Games Association is part of the Federation General Assembly which will make this decision.
We believe that it is inappropriate for Sri Lanka to be given the opportunity to host the Commonwealth Games given that the government faces serious allegations of crimes against humanity and has acted with impunity to block every opportunity offered by the international community to bring true accountability and justice to the Sri Lankan people.
PLEASE SEND THE LETTER BELOW to your country’s Commonwealth Games Association which calls on the Commonwealth not to choose Sri Lanka as hosts of the Games.
Once you have filled in your details on the letter PLEASE PRINT AND SEND OR EMAIL TO YOUR COMMONWEALTH GAMES ASSOCIATION.

PLEASE ALSO SIGN OUR PETITION calling for the 2018 Commonwealth Games not to be held in Sri Lanka. The petition is available to sign here:
